I want my mother to go on the plan as a way to eat healthier. I learned to fill up on veggies and that I just have always eaten too much and the wrong things. I got what I expected from Nutrisystem. Oh boy, where do I start? I just saw you posted the same comment twice—I published the first one as you can see but the second is a duplicate and the system won't publish it I have safeguards to stop me accidentally publishing duplicate content to this blog. For US not for the bathroom scales!

SOME of the food was extremely nasty hamburger, chicken, rolls but the pastas were pretty good, as well as the mashed potatoes and things like that. I stopped doing it beacause there were very few things that I actually liked on the plan.. But- I am very picky. I recently just tried it again.. This time they had different choices and I thought it would be somewhat better. While they did have some different foods, most of them were very BLAH. Turkey with dumplings- hardly had any flavor.
Macaroni and cheese, i thought would be good, but i was compeltely wrong. I stopped doing it this time not even half way through. I know someone else on the other hand, that i guess is not as picky as me and did it for 2 months straight. They lost about 15lbs and loved it and would recomend it to anyone and everyone. If you are not a picky eater, then it is worth a shot, if you can come up wtih the hefty price tag of it. I am just the type of person that will keep craving food because I am not at all satisfied with what I am eating.
The food was so bad that I couln't finish it. When you call to order they will tell you that you should try the favorites menu to sample everything and see what you like for the following month, but the problem is is that you get a few now so bad things which is usually the breakfast bars and a dessert and alot of nasty stuff.
I've also triied Jenny Craig lose 11 pounds in 5 days and found their food to be alot better, but of course ther is a big price difference. So there is a big price difference. But I wish you GoodLuck. My Best friend swears by it. I have known her for many years and she lost a ton of weight on it but ballooned heavier than ever everytime.
So as far as I can see it has never worked for her. She has been on it like 10 times. I swear it's a waste of time and money and I tried the foods yukko.
I would stick to real whole foods and train yourself. That is really the best key.. With the plan I'm on right now HCG , they wanted me to use their shakes and MCT oil four-times per day for breakfast and snacks in addition to very low calorie lunch and dinner all my own prepared foods. I'm alergic to coconut and both the shake mix and the MCT oil contains diratives of it, so I opted out. They weren't real positive on substitutes for the shakes other than occasional egg whites if I'm supper hungry.
Still, I have a feeling that if I got to be reliant on the shakes, finding those appropriate, healthy breakfast or snacks would be more difficult once I'm in a maintenance mode. Price-wise, it looks like NS is less than JC. I had a colleage that did NS for awhile and then basically broke down the contents and portion size for herself and fixed her own meals with the same results - 1 to 2 lbs lost each week, but she still yo-yos with her weight overtime. Thank you for your honest remarks. I know what to do to lose weight, but I am having a problem this time - getting older. Thought possibly the portion control could help.
Finding something that works for you is important. NS may be this for you--like I wrote, it works for my cousin when it is just her at home. Success on the scale and in how your clothes fit is a big motivator. As I have gotten older, it has become much much more difficult to lose anything. I have had weeks of diligent no cheating eating on a low carb, low fat plan coupled with exercise only to see the scale budge only a pound in 2 weeks.
Right now, I have to have extreme portion control. I have a dedicated drawer in the fridge with carefully measured proteins, salad greens, and other veggies for lunches. The food scale is out to measure portions for dinner and DH, who does most of the cooking, is making sure he doesn't give me more than my program allows. Careful planning, having a space for the measured portions, and keeping the list of approved foods and portion size right where is it visible certainly helps me stay on track.
